Trevor Lawrence Speaks to Media For First Time Since COVID-19

For the first time since his positive COVID-19 test that was announced on the 29th of October, Clemson Quarterback Trevor Lawrence spoke with the media following the Tigers double-overtime loss to Notre Dame.
Lawrence, who traveled with the team to South Bend, was not able to play after coming out of his isolation period on Thursday but was not able to complete his cardiac assessment every Clemson player must pass after contracting the virus.
“Coach Lawrence” was on the sidelines and was able to help on Clemson freshman quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei on Saturday night. Uiagalelei threw for 439 yards and two touchdowns. The 439 yards thrown for by the freshman, are the most passing yards a Notre Dame defense has given up, EVER. Lawrence was happy with the way Uiagalelei played:
Even with a loss against the Fighting Irish, the Tigers still control their own destiny for the rest of the season. If Clemson wins out, they will most likely get a rematch with Notre Dame in Charlotte for the ACC Championship Game. Lawrence and teammates know that and are focused on Florida State following the open week.
Lawrence was once again asked about the notion of possibly staying another year with Clemson instead of taking his talents to the National Football League. The quarterback said that he doesn’t want to talk about it the rest of the season and wants to focus on winning a Championship with his teammates and coaches. He did mention that it’s crazy to think that the Pitt game could be his last contest inside of Death Valley.
Clemson will take this much-needed weekend off and look to get healthy before traveling to Tallahassee, Florida for a matchup with the Seminoles of Florida State on November, 21st. The game is set to kick off at noon.
