After the Clemson Tigers pulled out a 47-21 win against the Syracuse Orange, starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence told media that it was not the team’s best game, but they still pulled out the win. Lawrence emphasized that part of the issue was the team’s inability to sync together and play one big unit. He went into further detail, saying how the team just kept encouraging and cheering each other to push through the game. This showed to work out in the end when they secured the win over Syracuse.
Lawrence: “I mean I think it’s obvious we didn’t play our best game. I didn’t play the worst game of my career but I didn’t play great.”

Lawrence proved his maturity as an athlete when he explained that he knew he didn’t play his best game, but he also knows that he can improve, and it is not something to get hung on. He further explained how he is always working to become the best quarterback he can, and he knows that he isn’t there yet.
Lawrence: “I didn’t play great. I’ll go back and watch to see if it was my decisions or inaccuracy.”

Lawrence: “I just play football. I try to be my biggest critic every week. I know I have to get better. I’m far from playing my best football.”

After finishing the game with 289 passing yards, Lawrence is heading into this week ready to improve and adjust before facing Boston College at noon on Saturday.
