This past week, Clemson came out of the shadows and gave out their first two offers for the 2022 season. Teammates Kamari Wilson and James Monds III play in the same secondary for Westwood High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. Wilson is being touted as the #1 safety in the country in the class of 2022. He has 29 offers to date, including Florida, LSU, Miami, Clemson and many others. Teammate cornerback Monds, on the other hand, has 16 offers which includes Miami, Michigan State and Tennessee.

The coronavirus “event” has created havoc for people in every walk of life. Monds doesn’t let it slow down his preparations. “It has been kind of good with this downtime. I’ve been doing a lot of workouts on the beach, and I think it’s given college coaches a chance to evaluate my film.” With two years left to play high school ball, Monds has a long time to decide on where he wants to play at the next level. Is playing close to home important? Does he see himself and WIlson teaming up at the next level? “Yes, we talk about playing at the next level together all the time. Also, I feel it’s important to stay close to home so my family can come see me play. Everyone in my family is in Florida. “

At 5-10 170, Monds most assuredly has not stopped growing and will be an intriguing prospect to follow over the next two years. Expect his offer list to grow. Monds grew up a Florida State fan, but they have yet to offer. Yet. Last year, Clemson walked into Florida State’s backyard and plucked TE Sage Innis out of nearby Lincoln High School. Never doubt this Clemson staff. More to come on this talented cornerback. Brought to you by:
