Seye Earns ACC Weekly Honor
GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Atlantic Coast Conference announced earlier today that Mohamed Seye has been named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week following his multi-goal match against South Carolina on Thursday, Oct. 1. Seye’s two goals against the Gamecocks marked the second brace in the sophomore’s career at Clemson. This is the first conference honor Seye has earned.
Seye was a part of the Tigers’ starting eleven last Thursday, making it only the second start of his young career. Seye made the most of the opportunity by logging five shots, with three being on goal. Both of these marks were single match bests for Seye. During his freshman season in 2019, Seye saw action across 15 matches and contributed five goals and five assists.
Seye shares the weekly honor with Wake Forest’s Kyle Holcomb. Holcomb contributed two goals in 65 minutes for his side. The ACC Defensive Player of the Week is Alec Smir of North Carolina. The announcement marked the eighth-consecutive year which Clemson has had a player earn one of the conference’s weekly honors.
The Clemson men’s soccer team will take to the pitch at Historic Riggs Field this evening at 6 p.m. to host the UAB Blazers (1-2) for the Tigers’ 2020 home opener. The match will be broadcasted on ACCN and ACCNX
