Korey Foreman is back to being the talk of Clemson recruiting. We all know the story of his commitment/decommitment with Clemson that started back in January 2020. Things happen in kid’s lives, good and bad, and more turns than a crooked rollercoaster, and no one can know what’s in their heads.

Foreman made an unofficial visit to Clemson last weekend during the Pitt Panthers game. By all accounts, he had a great time, as did his parents. The last time Foreman was in Clemson was back in January during Junior Day. Since then, he has committed to the Tigers, de-committed in April, and then received advances from a ton of Power 5 schools. USC and LSU seemed to be in the hunt on a daily basis, with the USC Trojans pounding the “stay at home” drum while LSU pounded their chests to the tune of “We just beat Clemson, we are the team, Clemson isn’t” approach.

According to sources, Foreman canceled his visit to LSU, scheduled for this weekend. That would seem to indicate the interest has waned a bit. Factors could be the Odell Beckham situation or the fact that the LSU team seems to be spiraling downward with a 3-4 record to date.

The USC Trojans are right down the road and have been hitting Foreman hard in the “stay at home and make us better” theme. I think that too is losing its luster. Yesterday, 4-star QB commit to USC, Jake Garcia, decommitted and is looking elsewhere. Playing close to home isn’t always the answer.

Many have gotten away from the state of South Carolina in years past. Tony Rice, I.M. Hipp, Stanley Morgan, and AJ Green just to name a few. Leaving the home state can have it’s advantages and disadvantages.

Recently, there has been a pipeline from California to Clemson. Current Clemson players Joe Ngata and DJ Uiagalelei hail from that state. Beaux Collins will be in the 2021 class, and Foreman could follow suit.

Things are coming down to it soon as a source has said Foreman will be an early enrollee. Decision time nears.
