Rece Davis and Desmond Howard Media Availability
By Makenna Biehl
College GameDay anchors Rece Davis, and Desmond Howard met with media on Friday via Zoom to talk about the upcoming game this weekend. Davis and Howard are looking forward to seeing a big ACC matchup between the #1 Clemson Tigers and the #7 Miami Hurricanes.
The Tigers have been known the past few years for running the ACC; however, this year has seemed to bring new strong opponents. Alongside Clemson, there are three other ACC teams currently in the top ten—Miami, Notre Dame, and UNC. Davis explains how fans may see Clemson facing a close opponent this Saturday, which isn’t typical from an ACC opponent.
Davis: “Clemson has been at a level far superior to the rest of the league. Now it might be different, we’ll find out a lot about that on Saturday.”

Davis: “When Clemson has been tested by an ACC opponent, it’s been a surprise.”

Howard: “I think it’s important for the conference to have another team that’s relevant, and that can go toe to toe with Clemson.”

Howard went into more detail, saying how it is ideal for both the ACC and the Tigers to have teams that can keep up with Clemson. Without teams like that, the ACC would carry little competition.
College GameDay will be live from Clemson this Saturday, making it Clemson’s 6th appearance at home. The game is expected to have a lot of rain, which will bring the energy from the Clemson vs. Notre Dame hurricane game that Desmond Howard says was his most memorable visit to Clemson.
Howard: “Just because of the conditions of the Notre Dame game, that was the most memorable. That was just epic.”
