Dabo Swinney Sunday evening Tele-Conference Recap:

Dabo Swinney spoke the media tonight via his weekly tele-conference to discuss Saturdays 49-21 win over Georgia Tech and update the media on some notes and the upcoming contest with Syracuse.

Swinney opened the call by stating “Really proud of our team” . . . “Played our best game” . . . “Played with a lot more detail” … and finally ending his opening remark with “Love the focus of our team and the confidence we played with”.

Dabo brought up that Clemson’s senior class  went 4-0 on their career versus the Jackets , only the third senior class in Clemson’s history with Georgia Tech dating back to 1896.

Coach Swinney added that the win could be attributed to “Work that  was done in the trenches”  and on the Tigers overwhelming defensive performance  “Really proud of the performance we saw defensively held them to 2.6 per carry” “Incredibly disruptive  we had  4 sacks and 10 tackles for loss”

Swinney chimed in “Only negative not capitalizing on turnovers” reminding all of the eight total fumbles by Tech and only one recovery by the Tigers.

Dabo also mentioned that “Offensively our best game”  said the offense over the last four games has “7 yards per play average“ a Clemson record.  Coach Swinney mentioned  he wanted his offense to “Become more efficient” and felt they did that on Saturday inside Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Swinney brought up that the offense was “100% in the red-zone” for the afternoon and that he was “Really pleased with running backs” and that he wanted to  “Challenge Etienne to be better player with out the ball “ Again explosive plays were at the fore front of his notes and said the team “had five explosives plays from  5 different receivers “

Dabo also mentioned some detriments from the day,  “Had a couple penalties ‘. . . Two turnovers led to 14 points”  but the Clemson Head Coach felt that “All in all our best performance”.

On the subject of the upcoming contest with Syracuse Swinney stated  “Huge week for us” . . . “Division Game” . . . “ Excited about Syracuse”.
