Head Football Coach Dabo Swinney met with the media via Zoom after the Tigers 47-21 win over the Syracuse Orange on Saturday afternoon. The win improved the Tigers record to 6-0, just the 16th time in school history that Clemson has reached that mark. It is the 8th time, and sixth consecutive year that Dabo Swinney has led the Tigers to a 6-0 record.
It was a “sloppy” game according to Coach Swinney, but the Tigers still put up 47 points and beat the Orange by 26 points. It is the first time in school history that the Tigers have beat their first six opponents by 18 points or more.
Swinney: "You can be sloppy and still win by 26 against a team that is throwing everything they got at you, really says a lot about the character of this team."#ClemsonSportsNews

The Tiger defense won the turnover margin battle in the game, picking off Syracuse’s Rex Culpepper three times, and forcing a strip-sack that was scooped up by Andrew Booth and returned to the endzone for a touchdown. Clemson scored 17 points off those turnovers, which ultimately was the deciding factor in the game.
Swinney: "+3 in the turnover margin was definitely the deciding factor of the game."#ClemsonSportsNews

Swinney also talked some injuries on the Tigers defense as well, stating that both starting linebacker James Skalski (groin) and Derion Kendrick (knee) sat out today and Travis Etienne was dealing with cramps during the third quarter and had to get an IV before returning in the fourth quarter and rushing for two touchdowns.
Some other notable quotes from Coach Swinney:
Swinney: "This is a game that a lot of teams would lose. You get backed up, let them go 80 yards down the field. But we responded. Both sides responded."#ClemsonSportsNews
