Clemson Softball signs eight to the Class of 2019
The up and coming Clemson Softball program has added eight student-athletes to the roster. Head Coach John Rittman announced last week that Valerie Cagle, Hannah Goodwin, Morgan Johnson, Kyah Keller, Akia Logoleo, Madison May, Abi Stuart, and Emma Whitfield have all signed letters of intent to join the program. The girls will enroll at Clemson in the fall of 2019 and will compete for Clemson when the program kicks off in the spring of 2020.
The girls hail from five different states, Johnson, May, and Whitfield are from Georgia, Keller and Logoleo are from Tennessee, Stuart is from North Carolina, Goodwin is from South Carolina and Cagle is from Virginia.

Cagle posted a .525 batting average with eight home runs for the Hanover Hornets in 2018. Cagle also pitched 57 innings, recording a .000 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 2018.
Hannah Goodwin

White Knoll High School, NC Hornets
Goodwin set new White Knoll HS career records for home runs (40), RBIs (147) and runs scored (173), and the single-season record for home runs (13). She helped lead Hite Knoll to their first 5A State Championship and she is a four-time all-state honoree and a six-time all-region selection.
Morgan Johnson

Evans, Ga.
Evans High School, Atlanta Premier
Johnson earned Georgia Dugout Club All-State honors in 2018 and is a four-time all-region selection, she is also the recipient of the WBJF News Channel 6 Scholar-Athlete Award. Johnson also helped lead Evans to a region 6A title, and third in the state, in 2017, and sixth in the state in 2018.
Kyah Keller

Battle Ground Academy, TN Fury
Keller is a three-time all-district selection in softball, in 2016, 2017, and 2018. She posted a .512 batting average for Battle Ground Academy in 2018 and a .598 on-base percentage. Keller has earned five varsity letter in softball, three in basketball and one in volleyball. Keller helped the Fury team to a fourth-place national ranking in 2018 and a sixth-place final ranking in 2017.

Hillsboro High School, TN Fury
Logoleo was named 2018 Tennessean Female Athlete of the year, and she is a member of the 2018 Class AAA All-State Team, as selected by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association. She hit .820 for Hillsboro HS in 2018, with 32 hits in 39 at-bats, including 11 home runs, also posted 17 RBIs and 30 stolen bases and drew 19 intentional walks.

Lowndes High School, Jacksonville Storm
Set a new Lowndes HS record with 14 home runs in 2018, while she posted a .396 batting average, 40 RBI’s and 47 runs scored. May earned all-state honors and was named 7A Player of the Year and was a member of the Georgia Allstar team in 2018 and she helped lead the Jacksonville Storm travel team to a fifth-place finish at ASA Nationals in 2016 and 2017.

Southern Alamance High School, Lady Lightning Gold
Hit .506 with 40 RBIs and six home runs for Southern Alamance HS in 2018. She is a two-time all-state selection and three-time all-conference honoree from 2016-18 and was named conference player of the year in 2017. She helped her high school team to three-consecutive conference and conference tournament championships.
Emma Whitfield

Stephens County High School, Atlanta Premier(current)/Team Georgia (Oct.2016-July 2018)
Whitfield has a 66-27 career record for Stephens County HS, with 809 strikeouts and a 1.56 ERA. Whitfield was named to Georgia All-State First team and Georgia Dugout Club Class 4A Player of the Year and a four-time All-Region 8-AAAA First Team selection. Whitfield helped her travel team finish as a national runner-up at ASA Gold Nationals at 2018.
