The Clemson Football Program received some good news today, as the Tigers found out that Defensive End Xavier Thomas has decided to return for the 2021 football season. A lot of speculation was out there in regards to his status following a season that saw Thomas almost opt-out of at the outset. And one that saw the edge rusher miss multiple games as rumors were out there he was unhappy and headed for the transfer portal. A season that also saw the early emergence of freshman phenom Myles Murphy rise and perform at a level that saw Murphy become the starter and supplant Thomas on the depth chart. With all that and the fact, Xavier graduated this fall had a lot of insiders pointing to the writing on the wall and expected a announce for the transfer portal. Today the Tigers and coach Dabo Swinney got the news that “X” was coming back.
