As we rapidly approach the 1st of August, with the upcoming  start of the Clemson football team and it’s fall camp, also brings with it the beginning of many long hot days of practices in preparation for the upcoming 2018 season.  The  2018 version of the Tigers are all set to return to the gridiron as a prohibitive favorite to again repeat as ACC Champions,  and vie for a fourth consecutive birth in the College Football Playoff’s. After a long summer break which saw numerous transfers,  summer conditioning drills, and now a return the practice fields surrounding Jervey Meadows for a intense and focused period as the team awaits the season opener with Furman .

With everyone’s gaze and attention focused on that first Saturday in September,  when the Clemson  nation congregates towards the northwest corner of the Palmetto State.  A time when  family and friends along with alumni  all show up, and as the tailgate tents rise and the flag poles are raised, the grills are all lit and smoking. . . Children dash about donning their favorite players jersey number are running all over the grass  of the Clemson campus as they dream themselves of maybe one day being a “Tiger” football player.  The first trip to the stadium in over a year brings the faithful out in from all over the region, as alumni and locals alike all show up dressed in their Orange and Purple regalia and celebrate all things Clemson Football.  Fans assemble near the West End Zone and prepare for “Tiger Walk” as the kids and parent’s alike are excited as the busses arrive, the Flags wave, the cheer leaders chant, and this years Tigers team marches towards Death Valley . As the Orange wave parts and the players disappear into the stadium to get dressed and ready for game-day. . .  the fans follow in unison as many start the trek into the stadium .

When this years Tigers come down the Hill we will again have to familiarize our selves with new players coming in and wearing the jersey number of a Clemson great or recent graduate or departure.  The Band will march onto Death Valley and the “Orange Bowl March” and the “Alma Mater” will ring true and loud as the fans get excited as they prepare for “the Most exciting 25 seconds in College Football”  See and hear the crescendo of noise as the busses transfer the team to the top of the hill.   As Dabo walks out and touches that rock and the team follows.  The eruption that is Death Valley as the cannon fires and the Tigers head down the hill into the Valley for yet another season of College Football.

In another year when Clemson is expected to be in the conversation nationally. . .  with so many returning veteran players, and many really highly recruited and hyped players to now be added to this team.  You can expect the excitement level and anticipation to be at a fever pitch by the time the Tigers and Paladins kickoff the 2018 year on the turf inside Memorial Stadium.
