The final piece of the “No Fly Zone” committed today to Clemson, 5-star cornerback Jeadyn Lukus of Mauldin, SC. Lukus is currently ranked as the #1 player in the state of South Carolina and the #6 cornerback in the country. Overall, he is ranked as the #32 player in the country.
Lukus is part of a loaded 2022 secondary class for the Tigers. He joins 4-star CBs Toriano Pride, Jr., and Daylen Everette (also had UNC as a finalist). Clemson also has commitments from two of the top safeties in the country in 4-stars’ Keon Sabb and Sherrod Covill. This is probably one of the best secondary groups in the country.
As a junior, Lukus (6-2 185) recorded 36 tackles in six games, a season shortened by the national pandemic. He becomes the 11th commitment for Clemson for 2022 and the 6th commitment for the defense. Prior to this commitment, the Tigers were ranked #14 in the country and had the 2nd ranked class in the ACC. While they remain 2nd in the conference behind FSU, Clemson will jump to 10th.
According to Tom Luginbill, National Recruiting Analyst, ESPN/ABC — “Lukus is long with good speed. He aligns in bump and run and tracks the deep ball really well. Lukus flashes good ball skills, and is physical at setting the edge. He is a good tackler, has good upside with added knowledge, size and strength. Lukus plays with good instincts and has a feel for zone coverage.”
