ACC Baseball Tourney Preview
Clemson heads into the ACC Tournament this week as the number eight seed. The Tigers wrapped up a 33-23 regular season and a 15-15 record within the ACC. The Tigers fall into pool A with the Atlantic Division Champion; Louisville and Boston College. Both teams, Clemson has clinched series wins over these teams in the regular season.
Clemson will face off with Boston College, Tuesday at 11 a.m. In this series, the Tigers hold a 33-9 record over the Eagles, dating back to 2006. The Tigers and Eagles have never met in an ACC tournament nor in a neutral site game.
Clemson will send Travis Marr to the mound to begin the series. Clemson is averaging 6.7 runs per game and hitting .267 with a .365 on-base percentage and have 91 steals. The pitching staff has a 4.44 ERA, .248 opponents batting average and 2.30 strikeout-to-walk ratio and is fielding .970.
Clemson will then face Louisville on Thursday at 11. The Championship will feature pool play format, leading to a four-team single elimination bracket to determine the league’s champion.
