In a move that many had predicted leading up to this date, 2020’s top defensive player out of the Peach State of Georgia Myles Murphy has committed to Clemson and the defending National Champions for the 2020 recruiting class. Murphy who had offers from a veritable who’s who of Power Five teams was down to Clemson, Auburn, and in-State Georgia as his finalist. Eventually deciding on the ACC Tigers over the Tigers from the SEC and Dawgs.

The Powder Springs resident had offers that included Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn St, Oregon and Florida just to name a short list.

Kirby Smart and SEC’s Georgia had been framed as early odds on favorites to win the trophy end, but it was Dabo Swinney and staff the outlasted the Dawgs as they managed to get Murphy and family on campus numerous times over the past year. The culmination of over 2 years of recruiting the Tigers now have added the 5th consecutive 5 star recruit in a row. An unheard of result that analyst around the recruiting world are still trying to wrap their heads around as this class is still picking up more high end talent with no stop in sight.

Murphy makes commit number 15 with 33% of those of the 5 star variety and the rest all high 4 stars. This class is expecting to expand again on Saturday as fellow Peach State native Kobe Pryor is announcing his commitment on Saturday and CSN feels confident in Projecting Pryor to Clemson tomorrow.
